Tips:
Tip #1: Adding variety to your babies diet is easy to do. Simple purees can be combined together to make an even more tastier dish. Here are some ideas: Blueberries with Pears, Strawberries with Applesauce, Carrots with broccoli and peas, Mango with whole milk yogurt, etc.. The list goes on and on and on....
Tip #2: As your baby gets older, thicken the consistency of the puree based on your babies ability to handle thicker foods. For example, when you feel comfortable enough and your baby can handle finger foods, you can transition carrots to be lumpier by adding less liquid and pulse blending the food.
Tip #3: Leftover food can be made into baby food assuming the food is still fresh. The other day, I had planned a dinner party and prepared several potatoes to make sweet potato fries. Unfortunately, the dinner the was cancelled. Instead of having a weeks worth of sweet potato fries, I simple chopped up and steamed the sweet potatoes for baby food. This is also works well with mashed potatoes. I don't know about you, but I always seem to make more than I need.
